Horse History – I am a city girl (born and raised in Seattle) who has had a love affair with horses since I sat on that first pony in my cowgirl outfit.  I made due with riding lessons, horse camps, leasing, borrowing, renting and whatever else I could do to spend time with horses.  And then I went to the Oregon Coast the summer of my 50th birthday and met the second love of my life – Buster. (My husband Tim is the first!)  We had 6 great years together until he got ringbone and I had to send him to Oregon for his retirement years.  It was a heartbreaker and I thought that was the end of riding for me.

Well, I didn’t count on the efforts of a dear friend who introduced me to a group of terrific women having way too much fun doing this thing call drill riding.  I owe a huge thank you to Kathy for bringing me into her drill family; to Lee who let me use her wonderful Teddy my first drill season and who has hauled me all over Washington to attend practices and competitions and to Erin who let me ride Beezer this year.  Any success I have had this year is because of this terrific horse.   I am blessed to have had drill and the friends I have made and the horses I have ridden to ease the heartache of losing Buster.

Now for the happy ending.  This same dear friend who got me into drill found the last love of my life.  His name is Ranger and he is a 13 year old Quarter horse gelding who has spent the first part of his life as a reiner.  I know he will love drill as much as I do.
