Like most girls I grew up loving horses.  I was lucky enough to grow up in rural Idaho where all my girlfriends had horses. Before we could drive (and afterward, cuz cowgirls are boy magnets) we would “drag” main on horse back. The big thrill for myself and a couple other friends was to carry the American Flags during the grand entry at the 4th of July rodeo.

Eventually I had to grow up, although I feel I am still in the process , and do grown up stuff like get married and have babies.  Imagine my luck in finding a New York dentist that indulged my horse lovin’ ways. 32 years and  five kids later, if I show him often enough he can now figure out which end of the horse the hay goes in! No complaining here though because he does all the farm stuff on our little bit of acreage King County allows us to live on.

Riding with the High Valley drill team is so much fun. My team mates are all great gals and very good riders.  We have a lot of laughs. This is my first year back on the team after taking a few years off and I can honestly say I am having a blast. The leadership and choreography is excellent and hopefully I will be a High Valley Rider until I can’t get a leg in my stirrup.

Thank you to my best horse buddy Bojo.  You have given me the best rides of my life and I wouldn’t trade you for a million dollars.  We’ll just keep growing old together.
