Horse:  Roper, age 7, buckskin quarter horse from the Jet Deck line.  I got him off a cattle ranch in Eastern Washington last April. We have been taking reining lessons with Dick Gately of Monroe. I think reining training is good basic skill level for drill maneuvers.

Family:  Husband, Robert....who is a avid golfer and finally after years of training can bring the horses in from the pasture without one of them getting lose!  Two daughters, Rochelle is 22 and Renee is 17.

Drill History:  I had been riding English on my big TB Shawn for five or six years and hauling my daughter, Rochelle, around to Pony Club events I was living horses through my kid. Then,  I befriended Lee Moderow, who wanted to start a drill team.  I liked the idea of a team and so I had to  learn how to ride western and get a horse that had the right athletics.  It has taken this long to find the right horse match. I have been doing drill for four years now. I like the western attire....but my husband laughs at me every time I put on my cowgirl hat and chaps!

Why I enjoy Drill:  I enjoy having a reason to ride and train all year long. I also enjoy my teammates and the diverse backgrounds and personalities. I am looking forward to a successful and fun year. It is great to finally have a coach to pull us all together and polish us up. Yippee!
